Top Tips for shutting down and restarting your machine over the school holidays

School nearly out for summer It is crucial for your machine to be shut down and restarted in the correct way when breaking up for the school holidays and returning for the new term.

HOBART Service’s Operations Manager for the North, Craig Robinson gives his top tips for shutting your kitchen equipment down correctly: Craig says: “Carrying out all these simple tasks will help to keep your dishwasher in a clean, trouble-free state for restarting after a shut down.”

Step 1

Step 2

Please remove the detergent lines (also known as chemical hoses) from chemical containers and prime through with water. This will help prolong the life of the chemical tubing and stop chemicals crystallizing. ‘Why aren’t my dishes coming out clean? How to unblock the detergent lines on your HOBART dishwasher’

Step 3

Clean out the interior compartment of the wash area. Do not use bleach as this may cause foaming issues later on when restarting. Step 3

Step 4

Isolate the electrics, turn off and disconnect the water supply (where possible) to avoid any standing water. Step 4

Step 5

Depending on the model, leave the hood up or door open when cleaned out. This will help circulate free air and keep the chamber fresh. Step 5
